Citizen Action for Tigers (CAT) Walk 2024

Mi Technovation has been funding Malaysian Conservation Alliance for Tigers (MYCAT) to support the Malayan Tiger conservation since 2022. This year October, total 3 groups of CAT Walk were sponsored by Mr. Oh Kuang Eng (the Group CEO) to participate in these thrilling activities including adventurous jungle trekking and antipoaching patrols.

All 24 pax of CAT Walkers have the opportunities to walk closer to the nature and immerse in the beautiful forest with vibrant greenery surround them. They guided by the expert staff of MYCAT, embarked on an exhilarating trek through the heart of the rainforest. The towering trees around them seemed to touch the sky, their massive buttress roots sprawling out like natural sculptures, dwarfing even the tallest of the group. Every step seemed to draw them deeper into the jungle's magic, with the symphony of birds and insects filling the air.

One of the three groups of CAT Walkers was fortunate enough to spot a rare and elusive pit viper, a long and venomous snake that usually remains hidden in the forest. They stood in awe, careful not to disturb its path, their hearts racing with excitement at the rare encounter.

On the last day of the trip, they involved in tree planting around the Eco Viaduct Sungai Yu. This viaduct serves as a linkage designed to facilitate wildlife crossing between the Taman Negara and Titiwangsa Main Range. This viaduct not only aids wildlife movement but also helps in mitigating wildlife-vehicle collisions.

All the CAT Walk volunteers gained a profound awareness of their close bond with nature and the responsibility they have in safeguarding it. The experience was truly meaningful and memorable.
